Goal : The role of the Black Belt is both to support complex and strategic projects as well as to contribute to the deployment of the Six Sigma approach. Specific tools are needed (change management, process redesign, advanced statistics). As an extension of the Green Belt training, the objective of this training is to allow the mastery of these tools to implement them through projects generating very large returns on investment.

Audience : Quality, production, operations, methods, R&D, maintenance, logistics, purchasing, sales, marketing and customer relations services technicians and engineers

Prerequisites : Requires to have completed the Green-Belt training or to have achieved an equivalent level of practice. It also requires the ability to mentally represent simple and complex mechanisms and processes.

Goals :
  • Introduction
  • The specific aspects of the re-design process
  • The role of the Black Belt in the Six Sigma process
  • Overview of the expertise needed for a Black Belt
  • Communication skills in Six Sigma projects
  • Six Sigma Project Management Techniques
  • Customer data collection tools
  • The reliability of data collection
  • The DFSS approach in the context of an industrial project
  • Presentation of statistical techniques and statistical softwares
  • Univariate statistics
  • The theory of parametric and nonparametric hypothesis tests
  • Parametric tests (Student, Fisher)
  • Nonparametric tests (Khi-2, Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Adjustment tests)
  • Bivariate statistics
  • Analysis of the variance (ANOVA)
  • Overview of the design of experiments
  • Statistical control of processes (SPC)
  • The Taguchi method of a robust engineering
  • Training Conclusion
