Goal : The purpose of this presentation is to have an overview and goals of a scientific view of risk management using @Risk software (from Palisade), known as being the best risk modelising tool for quality, process, finance, marketing, decisioning, logistics, project management).

Audience : This introduction course is intended for bachelor engineer needing to get an overview of the software, as well as get the understanding of what is the scientific risk modeling management.

Prerequisites : If possible, know the basics of descriptive and inferential statistics, statistics and univariate and multivariate methods of stochastic simulations and convolution.

  • Differences between scientific and traditional analysis
  • Basic reminder on concepts of probability and statistics
  • problems and limitations in interpreting the results
  • Analysis integration in MS Project or MS Excel

  • Using complemetary mathematical functions
  • Formula integration in MS Excel or Project
  • Chart assessment, by sensibility or by probabilities scnenario
  • Definition of a correlation marix
  • View the simulation results
  • Generation and customization of executed simulation reports
  • Adjustments results
  • Simulation parameters (Latin Hypercube Monte Carlo iterations, etc.)
  • Options for real time monitoring and modeling (convergence)
  • Use of @Risk Value Target tool
