Goal : Provide attendees with the appropriate knowledge and tools (RDBS, SQL...) to analyze corporate data. The attendees will be able to plan appropriate steps for database design. They will also learn the basic and essential terminology for database management.

Audience : Users needing to create a database with MS Access or any other database software.

Prerequisites : Have a logical mind.

  • Available tools on the market for database modelling and management
  • Various layouts of a database (architecture)
  • Digital data types (text, number, etc.)
  • Entity-Link Model (DCM: Data Conceptual Model)
  • Determine to be managed corporate data
  • Group corporate data as entities (1st, 2nd and 3rd normal form)
  • Identify data defining an entity (primary key, foreign key)
  • Identify links between entities (using foreign keys)
  • Define links cardinality (one to one, one to many, many to many) and integrity
  • Migrating from DLM (Data Logical Model) to DDT (Data Design Model)
  • Define joints in analysis
  • Training Conclusion
Pedagogical method : 90% theorical based training with PDF support document. Eventually examples done with MS Visio or Access.
